Description

Giclée reproduction of “Windjammer Parade” from the original pen and ink drawing by artist Scott Kennedy in 1983.

Windjammer Parade in Bremerhaven

The seagoing community of Bremerhaven hosts frequent boating events, including parades, races, and gatherings. From across the globe, traditional sailing vessels of all ages, shapes and rigs show up to celebrate life, sea trade and culture.

The Windjammer Parade features the grand four-masted Barks (or Barques). Commonly referred to as “Viermasters” (for the four masts), the Germans built these beautiful “Queens of the Seas” early in the 20th century. They were very efficient vessels that ruled the massive overseas trade until engine power replaced sail power. (Today, many sail training vessels are Barks.)

While moored in the harbor, the Director of the Maritime Museum came and greeted my wife and me. He escorted us both around this beautiful city, harbor and museum.

I received commissions from the City Magistrate and Maritime Museum, and this rendering is one of the collected works from these commissions.

In addition, the Certificate verifies that the artwork has been reproduced using only the highest quality archival-certified materials designed to preserve its integrity and longevity.  Art by Scott Kennedy recommends that the Certificate be stored safely and securely.

About Giclée

A Giclée is regarded as a museum-quality reproduction with its exceptional detail and color fidelity. Only name-brand, fade-resistant, archival-certified inks are applied to acid-free, archival quality substrates in order to produce the sharpest images possible.

Care for your Giclée print

On each Giclée print, we apply an archival coating designed to protect against UV light, scuffing, fingerprints and moisture. To ensure your fine art reproduction lasts a lifetime, avoid direct contact with the ink surface and do not position your print near direct sunlight or direct heating.
