About Mission San Borja

I painted the beautiful Mission San Borja while exploring the central coast of Baja California during 2012.

In the midst of high desert mountains, this area is known for flourishing hot springs and potable water. Not an easy place to access, the mission is situated 22 miles from paved roads.

While developing the peninsula back in the mid 1700’s, Jesuits – with the help of the local Cochimi tribe – chose this spot to erect their mission. The mission structure, built with massive stones, was the last of its type erected during the missionaries’ northward progression.

The construction had ended in 1801 however, before the bell tower was added. Unfortunately, the introduction of European diseases had decimated the native population.

Just one family lives here now.

Order handling

All artwork is carefully rolled and packaged in sturdy tubing. Multiple artwork orders may require more than one shipping tube.

Shipment processing time

All orders are processed within 2-5 business days and are shipped from California. Orders are not shipped on weekends or holidays. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.

Shipment confirmation & Order tracking

You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). The tracking number will be active within 24 hours.

Damages

Art by Scott Kennedy is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. If you received your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim. Please save all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing a claim.
