About Mercado de Abastos
I had returned to visit this vast, covered Oaxaca marketplace – Mercado de Abastos – after 49 years.
This place fascinated me. It’s as if I had walked onto another planet. With its strange and exotic smells and sights, I needed to capture the essence of this old marketplace.
I asked a woman for permission to set up my tripod next to her display of religious figurines, potions and incense. She was very kind, as were the other merchants around me. They were also curious to see how they would be portrayed as they performed their daily work.
Once I had became accustomed to my perch and surroundings, I started sketching with pencil. With the rough sketch completed, I immediately went to the ink pen. After that, it was time to implement watercolors to portray the appropriate shadows and depth.

Certificate of Authenticity
To protect your investment, a Certificate of Authenticity is issued for, and included with, each giclée reproduction. This Certificate guarantees that the specified artwork is one of a numbered edition of fine art giclées that has been reproduced directly from the original work of the artist.
The Certificate bears the artist’s seal and his personal signature, along with the edition number, printing method, materials used to create the reproduction, and information about the original artwork from which the reproduction was made.
In addition, the Certificate verifies that the artwork has been reproduced using only the highest quality archival-certified materials designed to preserve its integrity and longevity. Art by Scott Kennedy recommends that the Certificate be stored safely and securely.

Order handling
All artwork is carefully rolled and packaged in sturdy tubing. Multiple artwork orders may require more than one shipping tube.
Shipment processing time
All orders are processed within 2-5 business days and are shipped from California. Orders are not shipped on weekends or holidays.
If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
Shipment confirmation & Order tracking
You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). The tracking number will be active within 24 hours.
Damages
Art by Scott Kennedy is not liable for any products damaged or lost during shipping. If you received your order damaged, please contact the shipment carrier to file a claim.
Please save all packaging materials and damaged goods before filing a claim.
